Conclave
Conclave is a multi-day event that brings together students, educators, and professionals from across the southeast to foster stewardship through collaboration, education, and competition. The Wildlife Society's Southeastern Conclave has been one of the largest student conclaves for 50 years. Each year a different school has the chance to host. Tennessee Tech last hosted in 2006 and we are excited to host the 50th in March of 2027!
The hands-on events held during conclave provide students with valuable training in wildlife management, field skills, and conservation while providing unmatched networking opportunities. Events include: field trips, workshops (telemetry, chemical immobilization, mist-netting, etc.), field competitions, local tours, game-calling contests, quick bowl, banquets, photography contests and guest speakers.

Along with professional development, members have the chance to build meaningful relationships with their peers and find a community where they belong.
Purposeful Partnerships
The Wildlife Society at Tennessee Technological University gives students the opportunity to connect with professional organizations and businesses. Some partnerships include TWRA, Tennessee State Parks, and NWTF.
State Parks & Wildlife Management Areas
Cookeville is conveniently located within an hour of 7 Tennessee State Parks and 6 TWRA Wildlife Management Areas. Each of which offer wonderful outdoor recreation and internship opportunities for students.
Nationally Recognized Biodiversity
Tennessee is home to many biologically diverse waterways such as The Duck River and The Obed National Wild & Scenic River. The diverse flora and fauna of these rivers are what make them so unique to Tennessee.
Cookeville, Tennessee
Located in the heart of Tennessee's Upper Cumberland region, Cookeville offers outstanding opportunities for outdoor recreation, wildlife conservation, and natural resource management. Tennessee Technological University's nationally recognized Wildlife and Fisheries Science program is situated within this diverse landscape, providing students direct access to hands-on learning, research, and conservation experiences.
